Hollywood’s thespian elite stepped out onto the red carpet at Saturday night’s Screen Actors Guild Awards, draped in the richest of jewel tones and classic lines. They were dressing for their peer group and they did themselves proud.
Here are some of my faves.
1. AMY ADAMS
It is hard to wear a dress like this! But the American Hustle ensemble winner shines in one-shouldered cobalt Antonio Berardi.
2. SANDRA BULLOCK
The comedienne has eschewed prints for a delicious emerald job from Lanvin.
3. ANNA GUNN
Breaking Bad star makes a long line in a beads form Monique Lhuillier.
4. ELISABETH MOSS
I’m mad for the ravishing red Michael Kors on the raven-haired Mad Men beauty.
5. CATE BLANCHETT
Ethereal in a floating phantasm of pink, winner Cate B. gives it up in Givenchy.
6. CLAIRE DANES
Not everyone can wear the new pieces from Vionnet, but the darling of Showtime shows us how.
7. EMILIA CLARKE
The Khaleesi in Calvin Klein. The Game of Thrones power house parades about in marvelous mauve.
8. GRETCHEN MOL
The Boardwalk Empire diva stands out in J. Mendel by going neutral on a red carpet filled with jewel tones.
9. DAME HELEN MIRREN
The indescribably fabulous actress gives us an escape from gemstones in this majestic Escada creation.
10. ISLA FISHER
The fair-haired starlet channels Jean Harlow in slinky silk from Oscar de la Renta.
11. JENNIFER GARNER
Max Mara it-girl keeps it classy in a column of black bombazine.
12. JENNIFER LAWRENCE
Hollywood’s girl-of-the-moment slips by in sequined Christian Dior.
13. JULIA LOUIS-DREYFUS
America’s favorite fictional Vice President rocks an alluring blue/black combo from red carpet favorite Monique Lhuillier.
14. JULIE BOWEN
TV’s funniest mom gives us relief from a sea of solids in patterned Carolina Herrera.
15. KELLY OSBOURNE
Kelly continues to knock it out of the red carpeted park this awards season, here in Zac Posen.
16. LUPITA NYONG’O
The humble beauty and now SAG award winner delights in sea green Gucci.
17. MICHELLE DOCKERY
Ms. Dockery goes from Dowton dowdy to Hollywood fierce by way of a delightful decolletage from J. Mendel.
